What is BlizzCon?
BlizzCon is a celebration of the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises and the communities that surround them. This two-day event will contain Q&A panels featuring Blizzard Entertainment developers, social events for players and developers to meet one another, hands-on gameplay featuring your favorite Blizzard Entertainment games, casual and competitive tournaments, and more.
Blizzard has announced that tickets for Blizzcon ‘09 will go on sale May 16th with a second batch going on sale May 30th. The convention will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 21 and 22.
Ticket prices are set at $125 http://www.blizzard.com/blizzcon/events/tickets.xml, with DirecTV http://www.blizzard.com/blizzcon/partners/directv.xml selling a pay-per-view of Blizzcon ‘09 for $39.95.
This year, a new ticket queue system will be used to purchase tickets to reduce the chances of the awful experience many customer expereinced at the last Blizzcon mad ticket rush!
To get a BlizzCon ‘09 ticket you must:
Create a battle.net account (do it now).
You will enter a queue and taken to a page that will display your position in the queue and the estimated amount of time before you will be able to make your BlizzCon ‘09 ticket purchase.
If you get to the head of the queue before the tickets sell out you’ll have 15 mins to make a purchase!
